Tottenham morning headlines as Spurs offered second Dybala chance and Aurier replacement found

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Thursday, 13 August.

Dybala on the market

Tottenham came close to making Juventus forward Paulo Dybala their star arrival during last summer’s transfer window.

And the Argentine attacker could be on his way out of Turin this summer as he’s reportedly not in the plans of new Juve boss Andrea Pirlo.

The former midfield maestro is now in the Juve hot seat after the dismissal of Maurizio Sarri and he is said to have already made a decision on Dybala, who enjoyed a fine campaign to help the Bianconeri to another Serie A title.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, via FanSided, claim the player could be on the move for £100million this summer.

Lille defender to replace Aurier?

Tottenham need to sign a new right-back after Kyle Walker-Peters completed his move to Southampton, while Serge Aurier continues to be linked to Milan.

A report in football.london outlines how Lille defender and Turkey international Zeki Celik could be the ideal arrival in north London.

The 23-year-old has spent the last two campaigns in Ligue 1 and has impressed for the high-flying side, who narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification in 2019/20.

Using a statistical breakdown, Celik is identified as the ideal replacement for Aurier should the Ivorian move on this summer.

Levy’s major role in Mourinho success

With just a month remaining until the new Premier League season, Spurs are entering a crucial period.

A slow start last term ultimately cost Mauricio Pochettino his job after a summer in which several areas of the squad were not strengthened.

There are encouraging signs that this will not be the case this year, with the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton already secured.

The club are also in the market for a new right-back and another striker to provide competition for Harry Kane up front.

It will be a tough time for all clubs with limited turnaround time between seasons and disrupted training schedules, but Daniel Levy has a big role to play in the coming weeks.
