Tottenham morning headlines as Spurs close in on Sergio Reguilon transfer, Habib Diallo latest

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Sunday, 13 September.

Spanish defender set Spurs switch

Tottenham Hotspur are set to win the race to sign Real Madrid defender Sergio Regulion.

Forbes reports that the left-back, who impressed on loan at Sevilla last season, will move to Spurs after Manchester United opted out against making a move for the 23-year-old.

Spaniard Regulion won his first international cap earlier this month when he started in his country’s 4-0 win over Ukraine.

Manchester United told to break the bank for Kane

Tony Pulis, the former Middlesbrough manager, has told Manchester United to “break the bank” to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

During last season’s lockdown, Kane dropped a transfer bombshell when he said he wouldn’t stay at Spurs “for the sake of it”.

“I’ve always said that if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I’m not someone to just stay there for the sake of it,” Kane told Sky Sports in March.

Former Stoke City and Crystal Palace manager Pulis told Sky Sports: “Talking about who United should get, they should go and sign Harry Kane.

“Spend an absolute fortune, break the bank and then they will be contenders.”

Senegal striker on Tottenham’s wanted list

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has identified an alternative to Bournemouth striker Josh King after a proposed deal hit a snag.

The Sun reports that several clubs are interested in the Norwegian international, including Aston Villa, Everton and Fulham.

It means Mourinho has switched his sights to Metz striker Habib Diallo.

The 25-year-old Senegalese is renowned for his considerable pace and ability on either wing – which is an attribute Mourinho wants from his strikers.

Diallo would be available for £13 million, which would also appeal to Spurs’ frugal summer ambitions.
