Tottenham morning headlines as Rodon set for full debut and Harry Kane's future claim

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Tuesday 3 November.

Rio Ferdinand thinks Spurs manager has convinced Harry Kane to stay

Former England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes Jose Mourinho has convinced Harry Kane to commit his future to Tottenham.

Kane has publicly pondered his future in north London, raising the possibility that he might have to leave Spurs to win the trophies he wants to win in his career, but Ferdinand thinks Mourinho might have changed the situation.

“I said a few times in the past, ‘Does he need to leave Spurs to win trophies?’ And I think Jose Mourinho would have convinced him now to say, ‘No, we can do it here,’” the bT Sport pundit told FIVE YouTube channel.

“‘We are second in the league now [before Leicester City’s win against Leeds United on Monday night], we are not even probably playing at our best yet, we have not clicked properly or perfectly yet, we are still finding our best Xi maybe’”.

Jose Mourinho might have to hand Joe Rodon Spurs debut for West Brom match

Sunday’s Premier League game against West Brom might present Mourinho with an opportunity to hand a full Tottenham debut to Joe Rodon.

The Wales international is still waiting to make his first start for his new side after coming off the bench in the final moments of the 1-0 win over Burnley.

Spurs have a tough run of fixtures upcoming with games against Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool on the horizon, and so Mourinho will likely have to rotate his squad to get through that.

Rodon joined the club in a £11million transfer from Swansea City, but arrived too late to be included in Tottenham’s squad for both the Carabao Cup and the Europa League.

Everything Mauricio Pochettino said as he reflected on Tottenham career

Mauricio Pochettino was a special guest on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, during which the Argentine reflected on his time as Tottenham manager.

Speaking to Jamie Carragher and David Jones in the studio after Leicester’s win over Leeds United on Monday night, Pochettino provided an insight into his time in north London.

The 48-year-old guided Tottenham to four successive Premier League finishes, a title challenge in 2015/16 and a Champions League final against Liverpool in his final full season at the club.

Pochettino suffered a difficult start to the 2019/20 season, which cost him his job, but the Argentine still had plenty positive to say about his time at Spurs.
