Tottenham morning headlines as Ndombele swap deal advised and Lloris makes Mourinho revelation

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Monday, April 27.

Hugo Lloris: It is a “privilege” to work for Jose Mourinho

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has revealed he is enjoying life under Jose Mourinho and that the Portuguese is very different to how he is perceived in the media.

Lloris had a good relationship with Mauricio Pochettino and has been sidelined with an elbow injury throughout the majority of Mourinho’s time at the club so far.

The new Spurs manager has endured a mixed start to life in north London, but Lloris appears to be impressed by what he has seen so far behind closed doors.

"He's great. He's a character. So of course, through the media, you can have preconceived ideas, but when you get in touch with him on a daily basis, inside a training centre. I think it's a privilege," he said.

"He's coached so many great teams, so many great players.

"He's got a lot of experience and a lot of trophies in his cupboard. When you're a player, I think it's a chance to be at his side because there's so much to learn."

Darrent Bent supports idea of Ndombele swap deal with Barcelona

Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent believes the club should take up Barcelona’s reported offer to sign Tanguy Ndombele, which would involve Nelson Semedo and Samuel Umtiti moving in the opposite direction, reports the Evening Standard .

Ndombele has struggled to adapt to English football and Bent believes it is time for the Frenchman to leave, particularly because the two Barcelona players offered would fill gaps at the club.

“To be fair, that swap deal would cover up a lot of cracks and I think it would help," he told Football Insider. "Semedo a couple of years ago was absolutely brilliant for Benfica, absolutely brilliant.

"Went to Barcelona, struggled a little bit but that covers it.

“Umtiti as well, a World Cup winner of course.

"If you’re getting Umtiti and Semedo, you aren’t having to buy these players and that’s two positions kind of sewn up."

Former Tottenham man sees potential flaw in Premier League restart plans

Ex-Tottenham player and coach Steffen Freund believes that Liverpool could yet fail to lift the Premier League title , even if the 2019/20 season gets back underway this summer.

Freund thinks it is only fair that the current campaign is completed before the next one begins, but is wary of what would happen if a player then tested positive for coronavirus after English football has resumed.

"Three-quarters of the season has already been played so let’s try our best to finish the season in a fair and sporting way,” Freund told BBC 5Live.

"If, for example, a team or five or six players pick up the virus, what happens then?” he added. “The whole team will have to go into quarantine and then we cannot play and then we will not finish the league.

"That question needs to be answered."
