Tottenham morning headlines as Mourinho makes big decision for Man United, new transfer priority

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Sunday, October 4.

Son Heung-min decision made ahead of Manchester United clash

Jose Mourinho has Son Heung-min available to play a part in today’s trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

The South Korea international has travelled with Tottenham's squad and appears likely to play at least some part, although appears unlikely to start after suffering a hamstring injury in last Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle.

Son missed the two midweek matches in the Carabao Cup and Europa League, but could be set to make his return as Mourinho looks for a result against his former club.

Tottenham's Europa League draw reaction and review

The 28-year-old scored four goals in Spurs’ last Premier League away trip, a 5-2 win at Southampton.

Here’s the full squad news ahead of this afternoon’s match.

Tottenham fans make next transfer priority clear

Spurs supporters have taken to social media to express their delight that the club have finally signed a striker to take the load off Harry Kane’s shoulders, with Carlos Vinicius arriving on loan from Benfica.

But there was a common theme on Twitter, as fans quickly turned their attention to the next position to be strengthened - in defence.

Spurs have shown interest in Inter Milan centre-half Milan Skriniar but the two clubs are yet to agree a deal, which could go down to the wire with the window closing tomorrow.

The Serie A giants are said to be demanding £45m for the defender, but Spurs have only offered in the region of £30m so far.

Juan Jesus emerges as potential option in defender search

Tottenham have been offered the chance to Roma centre-back Juan Jesus, according to Sunday Times journalist Duncan Castles (speaking on the Transfer Window podcast ).

The 29-year-old, who has made four appearances for Brazil in the past, looks set to leave the Italian capital after making just a single Serie A start last term.

Jesus represents an alternative option to Skriniar as the transfer window approaches the deadline, while Spurs are also said to have targeted Chelsea wantaway Antonio Rudiger.

Daniel Levy has played a starring role in some dramatic transfer deadline days in recent years, and tomorrow could be no exception as the search for another centre-back continues.
