Tottenham morning headlines as Milik makes transfer decision, Mourinho's stance on Skriniar deal

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Sunday, 27 September.

Milik ‘ready’ for Spurs switch

Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik is reportedly set to complete a switch to Tottenham this summer to bolster Jose Mourinho’s side’s attacking options.

Sport Witness cite a report from Corriere dello Sport which even claims that the Poland international has his ‘suitcase ready’ ahead of a potential switch to north London.

Napoli look set to move on the former Ajax striker having invested strongly in their attack this summer, and his other possible destinations are said to be diminishing.

Milan Skriniar wants Spurs move

Spurs want a striker to serve as a back-up to Harry Kane and the Pole could go a long way to strengthening their attacking options.

Why Mourinho want Skriniar deal

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is keen to sign Inter defender Milan Skriniar this transfer window and football.london have outlined the motivation behind his interest.

The Slovakian has starred for the Milanese giants in recent seasons, and his injury-free record and with his imposing physical presence are two key reasons behind the Spurs interest.

Mourinho’s side have kept just one clean sheet across their last six Premier League outings and are yet to replace Jan Vertonghen, who departed earlier this summer.

Standing at an imposing 6ft 2in, Skriniar could be the man to build a defence around following the acquisitions of Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon.

Spurs could replicate Liverpool attack

The return of Gareth Bale has generated a great deal of excitement and he could help revolutionise Tottenham’s attack.

As argued by football.london, an attacking front three of Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Gareth Bale could prove just as devastating as Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah are for Liverpool.

The dynamism of the Reds front three is well known due to their pace and movement, and something similar could be about to happen at Spurs.

Son and Bale could essentially fulfil the Mane and Salah roles as they operate from separate flanks and cut inside onto their stronger foot, while Kane could drop deeper and occupy a similar role to that of Firmino.

Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela, Dele Alli and Steven Bergwijn are other forward players available for selection to prove the strength in depth.
