Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Tuesday, May 19.
Sherwood can’t see Kane joining United
Former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood does not think Harry Kane will leave the club for Manchester United.
The Spurs striker has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months after admitting that he would not stay in north London “for the sake of it”.
However, Sherwood believes Kane would only leave Tottenham to move abroad.
“I can't see Harry Kane leaving Tottenham and going to any other club in the Premier League," he said on the Squeaky Bum Time podcast.
"Not even Manchester United. That's just my opinion. I think he'd go to Real Madrid or Barcelona or Bayern Munich - I can see him there, yes, if things don't turn around at Tottenham.”
Robinson wants Lamela to stay
Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson would be disappointed if Erik Lamela left the club this summer.
Spurs have been linked with moves for out-of-contract duo Willian and Ryan Fraser, who both play in the same position as Lamela.
But Robinson says Jose Mourinho should still seek to keep hold of the Argentinian.
“I like Lamela. He has been a top player for Spurs and he has been there a long time,” he told Football Insider.
“He has come on a couple of times this season and really made an impact going forward.
“Him and [Giovani] Lo Celso, when they have played together, have been a good pairing. I still think he has time left in north London.”
Premier League give major update on season
The Premier League has given the green light to begin phase one of Project Restart.
A meeting between all 20 clubs on Monday confirmed that players can return to training in small groups from Tuesday.
But while the Premier League still hopes to resume the season on June 12, chief executive Richard Masters admitted that the date could be pushed back.
"Once you know when you can start full contact training and we have had a proper discussion with clubs about how much is required to create the fitness levels before they can start playing, we are then in a position to be able to confirm when the season start is,” he said.
“So we haven’t changed the start date, we have to be flexible about it. What we don’t want to do is continually move that start date. So we haven’t changed it, we need to be flexible and acknowledge we are in a step by step process.”
