Tottenham morning headlines as Inter Milan star linked, striker's £75k wage to be matched

Here are the Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Sunday, August 30.

Spurs favourites for Cherries striker

Tottenham are reportedly favourites to make a move to land Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson this summer.

The former Coventry City hitman is on the market with Spurs best placed to match his £75,000-per-week wage demands, Cherry Chimes cite the Daily Express as reporting.

Newcastle were also said to be in the running for the 28-year-old, who could demand a transfer fee in the region of £30million.

Mourinho responds to leaked video

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has spoken about the leaked video, full of expletives, of him telling his players they were too nice to win titles.

The footage was captured by the cameras recording Amazon’s upcoming All or Nothing show on the club, with the programme makers given access to the club last season.

"If people only watch the video that was leaked, people will think that I am a crazy guy," Mourinho told Amazon. "I don’t know, but they will see the real José.

"As I was saying before, nothing is fake. Lots of people will have a perception about me and now they can confirm if the perception is correct.

"If they misjudge me and they analyse me in the different perspective, I really don’t know. The only thing that I know is that I am that and what they watch is what I am as a football coach in my football, day by day."

Spurs in for Skriniar - report

Tottenham are in ‘pole position’ to complete the signing of defender Milan Skriniar from Inter this year.

That is according to a report in Italian outlet Tuttosport, who say the Slovakian could be on his way to north London.

The link is fuelled by Inter reportedly being well positioned to land Tanguy Ndombele from Spurs this summer, with a potential swap deal on the cards.

Skriniar has made 106 league appearances for the Milanese giants since his 2017 switch from Sampdoria.
