Tottenham morning headlines as Harry Kane hints at future plans and Kalvin Philips transfer blow

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for March 30.

Kane won’t stay at Spurs ‘for the sake of it’

Harry Kane has admitted he would be open to leaving Tottenham if he felt the club was not progressing.

Asked about his future in an interview with Jamie Redknapp for Sky Sports, the Spurs captain refused to rule out a move away .

“I’ve always said if I don’t feel like we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, I’m not someone to stay there just for the sake of it,” he said.

Tottenham: The season so far

The news is a major blow for fans hoping Kane would be happy to see out his career in the capital.

“I’m an ambitious player. I want to become a top, top player, so it all depends on what happens as a team and how we progress as a team.

“So, it’s not a definite I’m going to stay there forever but it’s not a no either.”

Premier League plan July restart but Kane isn’t keen

The Premier League is considering playing the remaining games of the season over a four to six week period in July, Football.London exclusively revealed.

An initial plan was forged in a conference call between the FA, the Premier League, the EFL, and the government, and would include playing all matches behind closed doors.

But the Spurs captain Kane, in the same interview with Redknapp, suggested he would not be happy with the plan.

“There needs to be a point where enough is enough,” he said. “Probably the limit for me is the end of June. Playing into July or August and pushing next season back, I don't see too much benefit in that.

“If the season's not completed by the end of June we need to look at the options and just look forward to next season.”

Leeds’ Kalvin Philips doesn’t want to leave

Kalvin Philips has dealt a blow to Tottenham’s transfer plans by declaring he never wants to leave Leeds United.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly been keeping tabs on the Leeds midfielder, but the player’s latest admission suggests Spurs will struggle to prise him away this summer.

“I want to spend my career at Leeds and see the club doing well in the Premier League,” he told The Express.
