Here are your Tottenham morning headlines for Sunday, November 22.
Carragher spots Kane skill
Harry Kane was once again the inspiration for Tottenham in their two-goal victory over Manchester City in Saturday’s Premier League tie.
The Spurs captain did not get on the scoresheet but was influential during the encounter, with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher noticing something that may not have been obvious to all viewers.
"I love Harry Kane!" Carragher wrote on Twitter, as quoted by football.london.
"So clever with his passing, getting fouls, making fouls, slowing the game down, speaking to the referee."
Kane provided the assist for Giovani Lo Celso to double the Spurs lead in the second half of the 2-0 victory and gave City defenders Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte a tough time.
Hojbjerg shows his class
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg showed he belonged at the elite of world football thanks to his performance in Saturday’s win over Manchester City, argue football.london.
The Denmark international could not break through in the first team at Bayern Munich under Pep Guardiola but is now proving why he belongs at the top level.
Hojbjerg had loans spells at Augsburg and Schalke before spending four years at Southampton and earning his move to Spurs this summer.
The 25-year-old now looks like a vital presence at the base of the Tottenham midfield in a role similar to the one Sergio Busquets has carried out at Barcelona, or which Claude Makelele used to master.
Hojbjerg is now a fundamental part of Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham and he will be vital to any success this season.
Merson on what Mourinho ‘doesn’t care’ about
Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has claimed Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho ‘doesn’t care about entertaining’ and his sole focus is on winning the Premier League title.
Merson praised the management skills of Mourinho and stated that he gives any club he is at the chance of winning a league title, as that is what motivates him.
“When you always watch Mourinho, the one thing about Chelsea was how do you keep all these players happy?” Merson told Sky Sports, as per hitc.com. “How do you keep world-class players happy when he was at Chelsea and they were flying? That is him!
“He doesn’t care about entertaining. All he is worried about is lifting that trophy at the end of the season and whilst he is still there they have every chance [of winning the Premier League title].”
