Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Saturday, October 3.
Vinicius shirt number confirmed
Carlos Vinicius is the latest arrival at Tottenham after the completion of his season-long loan deal from Portuguese giants Benfica.
As outlined by football.london, the Brazilian will wear the number 45 shirt at the club after being denied the opportunity of wearing his preferred number 95 by the Premier League rules.
He has previously worn 95 at each of his previous clubs - referencing his year of birth, 1995 - but Premier League rules dictate squad numbers must be consecutive and close to the current highest number.
The current highest shirt number in North London is Jack Clarke’s number 47.
Update on Skriniar pursuit
Tottenham’s one remaining transfer priority is signing a left-sided central defender with Inter defender Milan Skriniar remaining the priority.
As outlined by football.london , the two clubs are still apart on their valuation of the Slovakian - Inter reportedly are demanding £45million with Spurs offering £32million.
Even though a deal may still be done, it is complicated, with Juventus defender Merih Demiral and Antonio Rudiger of Chelsea thought to be alternatives in the position.
Spurs exodus likely
Tottenham are focusing on the departures of a number of fringe players ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline, report Football Insider.
Central defender Juan Foyth is closing in on an initial loan move to Villarreal with a view to a £13.5million permanent move next summer.
Full-backs Danny Rose and Serge Aurier, centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers and back-up goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga are among the other players who are up for sale, while Ryan Sessegnon and Jack Clarke are being made available for loan exits.
