Tottenham morning headlines as Barcelona set Philippe Coutinho fee & Jose Mourinho plans future

Here are your Tottenham morning headlines for Saturday, May 30.

Mourinho interviewed by six-year-old

Jose Mourinho has opened up on his managerial future… in an interview with a six-year-old girl.

Pilar, a Portuguese girl with Down’s syndrome, has generated headlines in her homeland after setting up a YouTube channel during lockdown.

And Mourinho was the latest big name to appear in one of the bitesize interviews.

The Tottenham manager, who previously coached Benfica and Porto, was asked if he would one day take charge of Sporting CP, Portugal’s other giants.

"You can never say that you will not do this or that, especially in football," Mourinho said."You never know, but I don't think so. I would like my career to continue outside Portugal, and then return, but for a few years in the national team, and not for a club."

Coutinho available for £8m

Tottenham have been told they can sign Philippe Coutinho on loan for £8m next season, according to Football Insider.

Spurs have been linked with a move for the former Liverpool star, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Barcelona.

Coutinho is unlikely to be part of the first-team squad at the Camp Nou next season.

And Jose Mourinho has been informed that a fee of £8m would be sufficient to bring the Brazilian back to the Premier League.

Tottenham would also need to cover all of Coutinho’s wages, with Barcelona keen to get his earnings off their salary bill.

Danish side thank Tottenham

Danish club Viborg have thanked Tottenham for allowing goalkeeper Brandon Austin to remain with them until the end of the season.

Like the Premier League, the Danish season was paused in March but is now set to return behind closed doors.

Austin’s loan spell had come to an end, but Tottenham agreed to extend his temporary contract with Viborg.

And according to TipsBladet, the Danish outfit thanked Spurs for their flexibility as they resume their promotion push.
