Tottenham morning headlines as Barcelona defender eyed and Mourinho explains Lloris bust-up

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Tuesday, 7 July.

Mourinho on ‘beautiful’ clash

The on-pitch clash between Hugo Lloris and Son Heung-min has been described as “beautiful” by Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.

The two Tottenham players had to be separated ahead of half-time of Monday’s victory over Everton but appeared to have made up by the start of the second half.

"That's beautiful," he told Sky Sports, via football.london. "Probably it is a consequence of our meetings. If you want to blame somebody for that it is me.

"I was critical of my boys because they are not, in my opinion, enough critic with themselves or each other.

"I asked them to be more demanding, to demand more from others and put their colleagues under that pressure of that team spirit, that you have to give everything for everybody.

Tottenham 1-0 Everton: Jose Mourinho press conference

"It was a situation at the end of the first half where an amazing kid that everybody loves like Son, a team boy - but it was a situation where the captain thought in the last minute of the first half, you have to give more for the team and a better effort than he gave.

"A couple of bad words, I don't even know if there was any push or no, but I think it is very important for the team to grow up because for a team to grow up, you need to demand from each other, to be strong personalities.”

Who is Dennis Cirkin?

Jose Mourinho included Dennis Cirkin in the Spurs matchday squad against Everton, but who is the teenager?

Cirkin is a left-back who has trained with the first team on various occasions since Mourinho’s appointment.

As outlined by football.london, the 18-year-old is noted for his stamina, energy and technical ability on the ball.

Born in Ireland but having lived in England since the age of three, Cirkin has risen through the ranks at Spurs and has primarily been involved in the Under-23 team this season.

Spurs in for Barcelona’s Emerson

Tottenham are said to be one of a host of clubs eyeing a move for Barcelona wing-back Emerson this summer.

The transfer blog of football.london highlights the report in Mundo Deportivo via Sport Witness, which claims the Brazilian will be sold this summer.

Primarily a right-wing back, Emerson is on loan at Real Betis and was due to spend another year in Seville, but the club may now decide to cash in this summer.

Emerson is co-owned by both Betis and Barcelona but both clubs are said to be open to a sale this summer with Borussia Dortmund, Everton and Newcastle also keen on a move.
