Tottenham morning headlines as Arkadiusz Milik transfer boost emerges, Newcastle eye Sessegnon

Here are your Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Tuesday, August 11.

Newcastle United ‘identify’ Tottenham youngster as potential target

Ryan Sessegnon is a potential target for Newcastle United this summer, with the Magpies keen to sign the Tottenham Hotspur winger on loan.

Signed for £25million from Fulham last summer, Sessegnon has struggled to break into the Spurs first team under Jose Mourinho, meaning they could be open to the idea of loaning him out next season.

The Sun reports Newcastle manager Steve Bruce wants to target British players this summer, with Sessegnon top of the club’s shopping list.

Newcastle are already thought to be interested in Bournemouth’s Harry Wilson as well as the Cherries’ Callum Wilson as Bruce looks to strengthen the squad at St James’ Park ahead of next season.

Tottenham’s Champions League prize money drop revealed

Tottenham received £61million in Champions League revenue for the 2019/20 season, it has been revealed, down £29million from the amount they received the season before.

The North London club’s run to last season’s Champions League final saw them claim a bumper share of the competition’s prize pot, but the failure to progress past this season’s round of 16 has cost them.

Football business experts Swiss Ramble have produced a breakdown of what each club involved in this season’s Champions League will receive from participating in the competition so far.

Manchester City have claimed the largest share of Champions League revenue among the Premier League clubs, taking €99million in prize money and broadcast revenue.

Asking price of Tottenham attacking ‘target’ could be reduced

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, with a cut-price deal for the Poland international possible this summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claims Napoli could drop their previous asking price of €40million for Milik in order to draw a transfer fee for the striker while they still can, with the Pole set to be out of contract next summer.

Juventus were also believed to be interested in signing Milik this summer, although that interest is now in question after the Old Lady sacked manager Maurizio Sarri last week.

Mourinho wants a striker to provide competition and cover for Harry Kane and could find that a deal for Milik is reduced by as much as €10m as Napoli look to sell the player for a fee while they can.
