Son Heung-min receives military accolade

Tottenham forward Song Heung-min’s three weeks of compulsory military training in his native South Korea has finished with a boost.

For Son, the top Asian goalscorer in Premier League history, was named as one of the top five recruits in his unit.

The 27 year old reported to a marines camp on the island of Jeju for his basic training, which involved lengthy hikes, as well as tear-gas training and rifle practice.

A Republic of Korea Marine Corps spokesman told AFP: “Son did exceptionally well in all areas of training, including military ethics and security education."

No hiding place from Jose, says Matic

Nemanja Matic claims it is best to hide from Jose Mourinho from the current Tottenham manager after a loss.

The Serbian midfielder, who worked under the Portuguese at both Chelsea and Manchester United, told an I nstagram Q&A with Football Beyond Borders : “If you win, he’s the best guy ever.

“But if you lose, you’re hiding from him at the training ground. But he’s an amazing coach.”

Matic won the Premier League with Mourinho at Chelsea, with the latter signing him for United in the summer of 2017.
