Tottenham misfit Tanguy Ndombele set to be offloaded to Italy

Tottenham are ready to offload midfield misfit Tanguy Ndombele to Italy.

Ndombele, 25, was axed from Tottenham ’s squad for their Carabao Cup semi-final with Chelsea after he was substituted against Morecambe on Sunday before being booed off and storming straight down the tunnel.

That has left his whole Tottenham future in doubt but it leaves the club with a major problem because the £63m record signing is on £200,000-a-week and it will be difficult to ship him out.

Clubs in Spain and France would struggle to meet those sort of figures and Spurs may look to offer him on loan or as a potential makeweight as they look to strengthen their squad in January.

The most likely market is Italy as Juventus have been sounded out as they look to strengthen their midfield while Spurs could loan him in the hope that he recaptures some form to either reignite his career in England or increase his value in the summer.

Either way it looks as if Ndombele’s immediate future is away from Spurs having been axed from the squad and with his name being mooted as a potential departure on loan.

Tottenham are also looking to do their own business in Italy as technical director Fabio Paratici determined to strengthen the squad with boss Antonio Conte demanding reinforcements.
