Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has rare social media message for fans

Tanguy Ndombele has taken to social media to share a message with supporters as Tottenham continue to be without football.

Spurs, like the rest of the Premier League clubs, have not played any competitive football in the past month, with the UK currently in lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Ndombele last featured for Spurs in the 1-1 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor last month, with the Frenchman criticised by manager Jose Mourinho after the match.

Now, like the rest of his team-mates, Ndombele is at home and maintaining his fitness during the lockdown.

And he has taken to Instagram to post a message to his followers, which number more than 442,000 people.

His message, which has had more than 10,000 likes and can be seen below, was written in French, but reads in English: "Do like me stay at home and always with a smile."

Prior to this, Ndombele's last Instagram post was on March 9, when he posted a picture of him in training at Tottenham's Hotspur Way complex.

The Frenchman has made 27 appearances for Spurs in all competitions since making the move from Lyon last summer in what was a record transfer for the north London club.

However, he has had injury problems during his first campaign in English football, while Spurs boss Jose Mourinho was critical of the midfielder last month after Tottenham's 1-1 draw with Burnley.
