Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks to be assessed after being forced off injured in Borussia Dortmund win

Harry Winks is waiting to find out the damage done to a problem with a hip and groin injury after he limped off at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.

Tottenham secured a place in the Champions League last eight for the first time since 2011 as a second-half Harry Kane finish ensured the Bundesliga leaders could not pull off a comeback following their 3-0 first-leg loss at Wembley last month.

Winks, who missed the north London derby draw with Arsenal on Saturday, was back in the starting XI at Signal Iduna Park, but was withdrawn for Eric Dier, himself back after tonsillitis, having gone down on 55 minutes, signalling to the sideline that he could not continue.

"We don't know yet," the midfielder said when asked how bad the issue was. "I've had a bit of a problem the last four or five days. A problem with my hip and groin.

"We'll asses it today and see how bad it is, but nothing too serious."

Tottenham travel to Southampton on Saturday as they look to get their Premier League form back on track following another fine night in Europe.
