Tottenham manager news as Gian Piero Gasperini makes clear statement on Atalanta future

Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini insists he's had no contact with Tottenham over the vacant manager's role.

The English Premier League side sacked Jose Mourinho last month, with Ryan Mason put in charge until the end of the season.

The likes of Scott Parker and Brendan Rodgers have been linked with the role, with Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi the current favourite.

Having worked wonders with Atalanta, Gasperini is also believed to be in the frame.

Despite having the budget of a bottom half Serie A side he's on course to take the Bergamo club into the Champions League for a third season in a row.

Gasperini's sides are also known for playing attractive football, something that's sure to be high on the list of priorities for Spurs fans.

But asked about the links on Sky Italia following his team's win over Parma, the 63-year-old insisted there had been no contact.

Gasperini said: "There is absolutely nothing, either with Tottenham or anyone else. No talks or contact.

"I have a contract with Atalanta and I'm happy here.

"If someone wants me I'd tell them to contact me after May 24 but first I need to understand if my president is sick of me!"
