Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen says he has received several "serious proposals" since the Premier League was brought to a halt by the coronavirus pandemic.
Clubs across Europe have been forced into a rethink over summer transfers due to the financial impact of the global outbreak, making free transfers an increasingly desirable option.
Vertonghen's deal is set to run out in the summer and the Spurs defender has now given the strongest indication yet that he is considering a move away from north London this summer.
The 33-year-old, who joined Tottenham in 2012, appears to have his sights fixed on a move to Spain or Italy, with European football at the top of his agenda.
"The lockdown has brought a lot of uncertainty to the transfer market and it has only had a positive effect on interest," Vertonghen told Play Sports in Belgium.
"I'm free and many clubs don't have the money to do transfers. Free players like me are even more coveted in the coronavirus crisis. Since January, a number of clubs have come forward with serious proposals."
"I want to continue at the top level for a few more years and I would like to play European football next season. The Spanish and Italian leagues are the most obvious for the time being, but I will keep all options open."
It comes after the centre back hinted this week he is keen to learn a new language and find 'the right club', though he was keen to stress extending his Tottenham deal remains a serious possibility.
