Tottenham Hotspur will not sell Harry Kane to Manchester United or any other Premier League rival this summer, football.london understands.
Kane has been strongly linked with a move away ahead of the summer transfer window, after Spurs' top goalscorer recently left the door open to a possible move.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports pundit - and former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp - Kane he outlined his ambitions and suggested that he would not just stay at the club for the sake of it and that he wanted the club to progress.
"It's one of those things, I couldn't say yes, I couldn't say no [about staying at Tottenham for his whole career]," he said.
"I love Spurs, I'll always love Spurs. But it's one of those things - I've always said if I don't feel we're progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I'm not someone to just stay there for the sake of it," he said.
"I'm an ambitious player, I want to improve, I want to get better, I want to become one of the top, top players.
"It all depends on what happens as a team and how we progress as a team. So it's not a definite I'm going to stay there forever - but it's not a no either."
That sparked concern among Tottenham supporters that the striker could leave this summer, with Manchester United strongly linked as potential suitors for the England captain.
However, amid reports that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy would be willing to sell the striker, but only for £200m, football.london understands that Tottenham have no intention of selling Kane to any other Premier League club, including Manchester United.
Kane has made no secret of wanting to win trophies and in Jose Mourinho, he is hopeful that the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager can bring success to north London.
He recently told Redknapp: "It's been good. What you see is what you get. He's an honest guy.
"If he likes you, he'll tell you; if he doesn't like you, he'll tell you. From my point of view I've built a good relationship with him.
"It's great to work under a manager like Jose. Growing up watching Premier Leagues he was a big part of that.
"So it's another opportunity for me to work with one of the best managers in the world. So I'm excited to see how that relationship unfolds, and I know he's excited to put his stamp on the team.
"From a players' point of view we know we've got a top, top manager, so it's up to us to go out and perform."
