Southampton head coach Ralph Hasenhuttl has opened up on his Kyle Walker-Peters dilemma.
The young full-back is on loan at St Mary's from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season and impressed during a 45-minute cameo appearance against Arsenal on Thursday evening.
Replacing Yan Valery at the beginning of the second half, Walker-Peters certainly delivered a performance to catch the eye of the Saints boss ahead of Sunday's game away at Watford.
Although this situation creates somewhat of a problem for Hasenhuttl.
On one hand, he has one player who will be at the club for the long-term, and on the other he has a player who is unlikely to join on a permanent basis.
Whilst admitting it's an issue, the Austrian has hinted at more game time for Walker-Peters despite the fact the defender is likely to head back to Spurs after his loan deal expires.
"Yes, this is always the same issue you have with players on loan, especially when you know that there's less options to get him permanent in the summer," Hasenhuttl said.
"But even now, we must find the guy who is fitting the best to what we need at the moment.
"And yesterday, especially in the second half, we needed a lot of possession and then it was clear that with Kyle we have footballing a guy who is calm on the ball and can create some threat on the right side.
"Although the last final cross or the final pass wasn't always perfect, I think we can do it better and this must be the goal for the future to work on this.
"Again, the whole squad yesterday, especially in the second half, showed a good performance, but in the final third this creating power to score I think it was not enough against such an opponent."
