Tottenham, Liverpool and Man United handed January boost following Dani Olmo transfer admission

Tottenham were linked with a move for Dani Olmo in the summer.

And they were not the only ones.

Liverpool and Manchester United were also thought to be interested in the 21-year-old Dinamo Zagreb star.

It was easy to see why, the Spaniard ended the season in flying form, netting six goals in his last five Croatian League matches, and going to the Euro U21 Championships and scoring three times for Spain as they went on to lift the trophy.

Dani Ceballos also impressed during that tournament and made the loan move to Arsenal for the season, with expectations that Olmo would follow him to the Premier League.

However, despite the links, football.london  was always of the understanding that  Olmo  was not a player that Spurs were looking to sign over the summer, and a move did not come to fruition.

Olmo has continued to impress in Croatia this season, however - the midfielder scoring six times in 15 appearances and transfer links are rearing their head again ahead of the January window.

Could Tottenham make a move in January, with Christian Eriksen likely to move on, if not in January then next summer?

Spurs, along with other interested parties, have been alerted to Olmo's availability by Dinamo head coach Nenad Bjelica.

Speking to 24sata he said: "Dani is impressive both as a footballer and as a person. Very modest and ambitious at the same time. He wants to learn every day and I'm proud to have him on the team.

"I think we are just watching his last matches at Dinamo. There are so many offers. In the end, the club and the player will decide together what is best for both sides. He is ready to play for the best clubs in Europe."
