Tottenham legend Graham Roberts does not want to see Christian Eriksen return to the club this month.
Eriksen has been linked with a return to Spurs on loan having failed to impress since his move to Inter Milan around this time last year for around £24million.
The Dane hasn't managed a goal or an assist in 14 appearances across all competitions this season, leading to him being placed on the transfer list.
Spurs are now being linked with a loan move for the midfielder, but former defender Roberts has spoken out about the possibility of Eriksen returning, with the Spurs hero not impressed with how his time in north London ended.
Asked if he wants an Eriksen return, Roberts told SpursWeb: "Me, personally, no. I think he let the club down with the way he managed it. That wasn't the Christian Eriksen that we knew that was a great, great player.
"Maybe it was easier to go over there and play, and I think he actually thought he would go to Real Madrid but it didn't happen."
Asked about Tottenham's failure to replace Eriksen, Roberts added: "I think, when they brought [Tanguy] Ndombele in, they thought he would get them goals.
"They never expected what has happened with Dele [Alli], and we have [Giovani] Lo Celso.
"We have players there, it's just playing them in the right positions, and the way Jose [Mourinho] sets up, he sets up for them not to lose."
Eriksen has a contract at Inter until 2024 but the Italian giants are open to his departure if they can reclaim the fee they paid, and there has been talk of a loan exit with both Spurs and Arsenal linked.
