Tottenham issue response over Harry Kane's future amid Chelsea and Man City transfer links

Tottenham Hotspur have placed an emphasis on finishing the Premier League campaign in the best way possible in response to reports over Harry Kane's future at the club.

Kane has become frustrated by the lack of silverware being won in north London, with last month's Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City at Wembley continuing the club's 13-year wait for a trophy in domestic football.

But while it is true that Kane has become frustrated with the current situation at Spurs, football.london understands that the England captain has not informed the club's hierarchy of his desire to leave this summer, despite reports to the contrary by Sky Sports News.

Nevertheless, Kane has not shied away from his desire to win trophies in football.

"Individual awards are great, they are fantastic achievements," he said last month. "When I look back at the end of my career, these are the things I will go over and take in more but the goal right now as a player is to win team trophies.

"I want to be winning the biggest prizes there is to offer and we are not quite doing that.

"It is bittersweet, I would rather be winning team trophies and this one but it is what it is.

"I am proud to win it, it means it's been a good season on the pitch. So I have got to try and continue what I am doing."

Following this evening's developments, Spurs have been asked to comment on Kane's future and what it could hold for both himself and the club. However, the north London outfit have issued a short response over the club's current aims.

"Our focus is on finishing the season as strongly as possible," Spurs said in a statement, as reported by the BBC. "That's what everyone should be focused on."

While the statement sheds little clarity on Kane's future, it is nothing out of the ordinary, with clubs rarely commenting on transfer speculation until a deal is completed and finalised.

Kane is likely to have a whole host of admirers this summer, including the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.

But while those three would understandably be keen on signing a player of Kane's calibre, they may not find it so easy to do so away because of the fact that his price tag is likely to exceed £100million.

Kane, who has notched 32 goals in all competitions this season, is under contract until the summer of 2024.
