Tottenham injury blow confirmed as Dele Alli is tipped for Mauricio Pochettino reunion

Here's all the news from around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the past 24 hours.

Lo Celso injury blow

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Giovani Lo Celso is set to miss out on Tottenham's festive fixtures.

The Argentine wasn't included in Spurs' 18-man squad for the Carabao Cup tie against Stoke City on Wednesday evening, with the upcoming matches against Wolves, Fulham and Leeds United likely to come too soon for him to return.

Mourinho has opened up on the 24-year-old and Tanguy Ndombele's absence at Stoke when speaking to the media ahead of his side's trip to Molineux.

"Gio no, he will not be fit. Tanguy is fit but he didn't come to Stoke. My decision, but he is fit," explained Mourinho.

When pressed on how long Lo Celso could be out for, he added: "I don't know, I believe that he will not be playing in this period of Christmas and New Year for sure."

Pochettino return

Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has previously admitted he dreams of coaching Paris Saint-Germain.

The big surprise news on Christmas eve was that Thomas Tuchel has been sacked after more than two years at PSG where he won back-to-back Ligue 1 titles, the German tactician departs the French side who currently trail leaders Lyon by a single point.

And Pochettino has quickly been installed as one of the favourites to replace Tuchel at the Parc des Princes.

Pochettino has already revealed that he would be open to managing PSG and his dream could be about to turn into a reality.

"I have always said that one day it would be a pleasure to manage a big club like Paris, a dream," Pochettino previously told RMC in 2016."I try to watch all of their games, especially in the Champions League and sometimes I speak with [former PSG assistant coach] Jean-Louis Gasset.

"I watch a lot of live matches in the French league.

"The championship is not very attractive as PSG are a long way ahead of the other teams and I mostly look at the French league because it is a source of major players, players who would adapt well to playing in England."

Alli tipped for PSG transfer

If Pochettino is appointed the next PSG manager, could he be reunited with Dele Alli in the French capital?

Well, some Spurs fans think that will be the case.

Alli was already linked with the French giants before Pochettino was tipped to take over.

The pair struck up a fruitful relationship during their time at Spurs together, and now that Pochettino is in line to succeed Tuchel, those Alli to France rumours are only going to get louder.

Whether Pochettino will take the job or whether he will wait out for something in Spain or England remains to be seen, but odds have been slashed to 1/5 following Tuchel's sacking on Christmas Eve.
