Tottenham: Hugo Lloris speaks out on potential Nice return as ‘fate’ will decide goalkeeper’s future

Hugo Lloris has declared that “fate” will decide his transfer future after talk of a potential return to Nice.

The Tottenham goalkeeper has a year left to run on his contract in north London but multiple reports have suggested he could be allowed to leave in the summer transfer market.

A number of destinations have been mooted for Lloris including Saudi Arabia and ex-club Nice.

Returning to the south of France would be an emotional moment for the 36-year-old, who was born and raised in Nice before graduating from the Ligue 1 side’s academy.

“I am very attached to the city of Nice, as you know,” he told radio station BFM Nice Cote d’Azur.

“I can’t speak about concrete things. The club has to finish the season first, there are two goalkeepers of high quality, including one that I’m good friends with in Kasper Schmeichel. You can understand that it’s difficult to speak about these kinds of subjects.

“I’ll let fate handle things.”
