Tottenham Hotspur 'want £60million' for Manchester United transfer target Christian Eriksen

Manchester United have been told to pay £60million if they want to land reported transfer target Christian Eriksen - according to today's transfer gossip.

The London Evening Standard have claimed United want to centre a summer recruitment drive around the talented Tottenham Hotspur playmaker, who has just over a year remaining on his current contract.

Spurs, it is reported, would demand a £60million fee for the Danish midfield maestro, who was snubbed in the PFA Team Of The Year by United's Paul Pogba.

United want central midfield recruits in the summer and may lose their only specialist No.10 in Juan Mata whose contract expires at the end of the coming June.

Elsewhere, it has been claimed that newly-crowned Italian champions Juventus will rival United for Roma defender Kostas Manolas.

The Greek centre-back appears to have no shortage of suitors this summer, linked to United recently as another option if they don't land Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly.

It is reported by Italian news outlet Correire dello Sport that Juve are preparing a bid which would meet the 27-year-old's  €36m (£31.06m) release clause. MEN Sport understands United are keen on signing a centre-back and have highlighted Koulibaly as a primary target.

It's also been claimed by The Times that Liverpool star Virgil Van Dijk had been on United's radar before he joined the Anfield. The Dutchman has been a key cog for Liverpool and the Red Devils reportedly 'enquired' about him too late, as Van Dijk swapped Southampton for Merseyside.
