It’s desperation time for Tottenham Hotspur as they host Watford on Saturday after the international break has concluded. Mauricio Pochettino’s seat is warming after an abysmal away performance against Brighton that saw Spurs lose 3-0 and slip to ninth in the Premier League table after eight matches. If the positive results don’t come soon, it could lead to big changes in North London.

Some home cooking should do Tottenham well as they haven’t won an away match in the league since January. Their home form has been okay, and lowly Watford coming to their new mega stadium could be just what they need to get back their confidence and find some good form.
Reports have emerged regarding Spurs contacting possible replacements for Pochettino if things get worse. There’s no doubt at this point that the pressure is squarely on to get nothing but three points.
While Jose Mourinho may not be walking through that door, it’s clear that the situation at Spurs has deteriorated. The transfer sagas seem to have caused discontent between several key players and the manager. Not to mention Pochettino’s transfer wishes not coinciding with the Spurs board’s stingy negotiating tactics.
Watford picked up their third draw of the season against Sheffield United in their last game before the break. Those three results have been their only points of the season as they search for their first win of the season. The outlook for this season is looking grim, but there is still time for the Hornets to turn it around.
