Tottenham Hotspur transfer rumours: Rival reacts to Joe Rodon signing, Jack Clarke bids rejected

Tottenham Hotspur are no longer able to make any more signings until January.

Spurs got a deal to sign Joe Rodon from Swansea City across the line on domestic transfer deadline day securing the promising defender on a five-year contract.

The deadline means that Spurs are now unable to sign any players until the January transfer window opens.

That does not stop the rumour mill turning, though, with Spurs' active summer window providing fuel to the fire of the amount of players they have been linked with.

With that in mind, here are the latest Spurs transfer rumours.

Spurs complete Joe Rodon transfer

Rodon's first words

Joe Rodon says signing for Spurs is a dream come true.

The Wales international has moved to North London on an £11m deal plus add-ons.

He says being able to link up with international teammates Ben Davies and Gareth Bale will help him settle in quickly.

"It’s a great story and to join Ben here now is even better for me," said Rodon.

"Ben and Gareth are two massive players for Wales, and hopefully they can help me settle in quickly and make me feel even more welcome. Yes, that was a big part for me. Hopefully, it all goes perfectly.

"As everyone knows, Jose Mourinho is one of the biggest managers in the world, and all I can do is be excited, learn every day and hopefully take it all on board.

"I’m not looking too far, just to take each day as it comes, hopefully improve and become a better player, and take it from there."

Rival reacts

Sheffield United star Oliver McBurnie has reacted to Rodon joining Spurs.

McBurnie was teammates with Rodon at Swansea and clearly rates the defender highly.

After learning of Rodon's move to Spurs, McBurnie posted on Twitter: "Superstar."

Spurs turn down Clarke offers

Spurs have turned down all offers that have come in for Jack Clarke.

The winger struggled during loan spells at Leeds United and QPR last season, being starved of first-team football.

Yet he has caught the eye in training under Jose Mourinho so far this season.

Mourinho now believes that keeping Clarke at Spurs could be the best move for his development.
