Tottenham broke a Premier League record as they failed to make a single signing in a season.
However, there was movement out of the club as winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou joined Monaco on loan until the end of the season.
Out-of-favour striker Vincent Janssen, who has not made an appearance since 2017, saw potential moves to Real Betis and Schalke break down and will stay at the club.
Relive all of today's Tottenham transfer stories.
Welcome to our live coverage of Tottenham's deadline day.
Will Spurs finally sign someone? Mauricio Pochettino was "not optimistic at all" but Daniel Levy has always loved a late move - could he spring another surprise?
We'll bring you all the latest news plus all the done deals and the juiciest gossip throughout the day right here so don't touch that dial.
Without further ado, off we go.
Without further ado, off we go.

Adrien Rabiot is said to have turned down a move to Spurs because he wants to join Liverpool instead, according to The Sun.
The 23-year-old's contract is up in the summer.

Could Jarrod Bowen arrive today?
Tottenham have a long-held interest in the Hull City forward and have been linked with a move for him all window long.
The 22-year-old has scored 14 goals in the Championship this season.

Tottenham forward Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is in talks with Monaco over a loan move, according to the Press Association.
The 23-year-old has failed to make an impact at Spurs since joining from Marseille for £9million in the summer of 2016 and looks set to return to his homeland.
He made his first start in two years in Sunday's FA Cup defeat at Crystal Palace, but put in a dismal display which might have convinced boss Mauricio Pochettino to let him go, despite a shortage of attacking players.
Pochettino had previously intimated that Nkoudou, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley, was part of his plans in the wake of injuries to Harry Kane and Dele Alli and he set up Harry Winks' last-gasp winner against Fulham 10 days ago.
But Spurs are in talks with the Ligue 1 side, who have recently sacked Thierry Henry and replaced him with former boss Leonardo Jardim, and a deal looks set to get done before Thursday's transfer deadline.

Mauricio Pochettino is not expecting a dramatic final day of the transfer window for Tottenham. Perhaps last night's impressive turnaround against Watford has convinced Daniel Levy that no additions are needed.
“I don’t know anything," Pochettino said yesterday evening. "I am going to talk now with my chief scout Steve Hitchen. I am going to ask for some news.
"I expect that maybe some player is going to leave but I do not expect that we are going to add to the squad. I am going to talk because I want some news, but not because I am expecting to sign a player.”

Tottenham haven't signed a single player over the last two transfer windows.
And they have apparently turned down the chance to sign one again today.
The Sun report that Tottenham were offered Malcom on loan by Barcelona but chose not to pursue a deal.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is having a medical at Monaco ahead of a loan move. That one seems like it could be close to completion, which might please Spurs fans.
The Frenchman hasn't exactly set the world alight since his 2016 move from Marseille.
Tottenham could delay their move for Hull forward Jarrod Bowen until the summer, according to Football.London.
Spurs remain interested in the 22-year-old and have continued to monitor him throughout the January window. But they are now expected to hold off until the summer.

It looks like Vincent Janssen is on his way out at Tottenham. Spurs fans will, no doubt, be in tears upon hearing the news. The Dutchman, who has scored a grand total of two Premier League goals for the club, is set to join Bundesliga side Schalke on loan, according to the Sun.
He had earlier been expected to move to Real Betis, but that fell through, predictably, because of Daniel Levy's stubbornness in negotiations.

Leeds youngster Jack Clarke, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham, will not be going anywhere, according to his agent Ian Harte.
The 18-year-old midfielder has impressed for the Championship leaders this season, attracting interest from Spurs. But Harte, responding to a tweet that suggested Clarke could be on his way to Tottenham before the close of the window, wrote: "Jack will be staying at Leeds and wants to get the club back to where it belongs!!!".

Tottenham are one of several Premier League clubs monitoring the availability of Bolton teenager Luca Connell. The 17-year-old midfielder made his first start for Bolton in last week's FA Cup defeat against Bristol City.
The Championship club, despite the interest, are reluctant to sell. “When any youngster makes his debut an alert goes around all the analysts, their laptop flashes up and it’s inevitable people will know about him. But he’s one we want to keep,” Bolton boss Phil Parkinson told the Bolton News.
Another potential outgoing:
In terms of incomings for Spurs, there's nothing more than rumours thus far. It's all predictably underwhelming.
Ten hours to go until the transfer window shuts. There's little to suggest anything exciting will happen at Spurs. Perhaps we'll all be surprised and they'll splash £200million before the end of the day. Seems unlikely though.

Tottenham are, according to Football.London, monitoring Norwich full back Max Aarons, with a view to signing the teenager in the summer.
As with Spurs' interest in Bowen and Clarke, there is no rush to complete a deal. Tottenham would prefer to continue to monitor the youngsters and make several additions to their squad in the summer.
Birmingham forward Che Adams, who has been prolific in the Championship this season, is another young Englishman on Spurs' radar.

Spurs were in talks to sign Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi on loan but chose not to go through with a deal, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solkehol.
“We have been told talks have also been held with Spurs about Michy Batshuayi moving on loan to Spurs. We are being told that is not going to happen as Spurs have decided not to pursue signing Michy Batshuayi on loan,” said Solkehol.
The Belgian forward is instead likely to move to one of West Ham or Real Betis. Both clubs have had loan offers accepted.

Tottenham fans might have forgotten how it feels to sign a new player. The club's approach is admirable in many ways, and recruitment under Pochettino has largely been excellent. But supporters could be forgiven for feeling frustrated.
Lucas Moura, who joined in January last year, is the last signing Spurs made. If there are no incomings today, Tottenham will, by the summer, have gone 18 months without completing a transfer.

Done Deal
Georges-Kévin NKoudou has moved to Monaco on loan for the rest of the season.
It's no surprise that Nkoudou has been shipped out on loan. The Frenchman struggled to establish himself at the club following his move from Marseille in 2016 and has barely featured this season. He'll hope for a return to the form that earned him the Spurs switch.
Gareth Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has spoken publicly about speculation surrounding the former Tottenham man. The Welshman scored on his return from injury as Real Madrid won 4-2 at Espanyol last weekend. But rumours about his future at the club have persisted.
"Gareth never wanted to leave Real Madrid," Barnett said. "He has always felt an important part of this team. He is very happy at Real Madrid and Real Madrid is very happy with Bale. The truth is we are already tired of these stupid stories."
A return to Spurs in the near future doesn't seem likely then.
