Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust requests meeting with club to explain long-term vision

Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust has requested a meeting with the club's executive board to discuss Spurs' short and long-term vision.

Top-four regulars under Mauricio Pochettino and Champions League finalists in 2019, the Lilywhites have endured a rather frustrating past two seasons having failed to secure a place in Europe's top competition.

A summer of change at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Nuno Espirito Santo taking over as head coach and Fabio Paratici coming in as managing director of football, Spurs were top of the Premier League table at the end of August after three straight wins.

However, they have since followed it up with three defeats on the spin, including Sunday's disastrous 3-1 defeat away at Arsenal in the North London Derby after an unacceptable first half from the team.

Many fans are rather concerned about where exactly the club are heading at present given what has happened over the past two years, with Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust now wanting to find out the club's plan for both the short and long-term.

"Over the past few weeks we’ve been contacted by an increasing number of Trust members and the wider fan base who are extremely concerned about the current direction of THFC," read a statement from the trust.

"Part of our role as a Trust is to ensure the Club’s Board are fully aware of supporter sentiment. So we have asked for a meeting with the Club’s Executive Board to discuss both the short and long-term strategic vision for the football club.

"The Club’s Board will be aware of the questions currently being asked by the Trust, by fans and by the media. This meeting, therefore, is an opportunity for the decision makers at THFC to explain their plans to supporters.

"This explanation should include plans for this season and beyond, an explanation of how success will be measured and how the Club’s DNA will be regained.

"We await their response, and will update on our website as soon as there is any news."
