Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust issue statement after Spurs confirm season ticket prices

The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust have welcomed the news that Tottenham have decided to freeze their season ticket prices for the 2023/24 campaign. At a time when clubs such as Manchester United and Arsenal have increased their prices for next term, Spurs have elected against it.

Given the team's current form following another frustrating season in N17, the supporters' trust believe it would have been "unreasonable" for the club to expect fans to pay even more money next campaign.

"Spurs fans will be relieved to read today’s announcement of a freeze on season ticket prices. At a time when we are all feeling the squeeze from the cost-of-living crisis, this is very welcome," read a statement on the supporters' trust website.

"The Trust is pleased that the club has responded positively to our representations that prices should be frozen, and that the renewal window should be extended beyond the end of the season. This is something we have argued hard for because fans truly are the heartbeat of the club, and we believe to ask them to pay even more to watch the team next season, would be unreasonable.

"Our season tickets remain amongst the highest in the Premier League and in Europe. Football must be accessible if it is to retain its integrity as the people’s game. Many are already priced out of seeing their team play and there is a danger the match attending demographic will change for good, impacting on passion and atmosphere.

"We meet regularly with the club’s ticketing department and will continue to press the club to ensure ticket prices do not escalate and that consideration is given to how we reward loyal fans as well as encourage a new generation of season ticket holders. We will continue to lobby for things that matter to Spurs fans including match day pricing, European group stage categorisation and packages, and the removal of booking fees."

In a statement on the club's official website regarding 2023/24 season ticket prices, Spurs confirmed that they had consulted with Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust before coming to a decision over their prices for next season.

"We should like to take this opportunity to thank our season ticket holders for their support throughout the current campaign. The focus is now on getting behind Cristian [Stellini], the coaching staff and the team for the remaining games as we fight for the highest possible Premier League finish," read the statement.

"Due to global economic events we, like all other sectors, are not immune to rising costs and disruption to supply chains, along with higher energy prices. We are, however, acutely aware that everyone is also currently impacted by the rising cost of living. With this in mind, and following consultation with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust, we can confirm that season ticket prices for the 2023/24 season will be frozen.

"We recognise and greatly appreciate the ongoing commitment our fans continue to make in showing support for the team.

"Once again, we shall be working with V12 Finance to offer a payment option to supporters wishing to spread the cost of their season ticket across 10 months. Subject to approval, payments will commence in June and continue for a further nine months. If you wish to pay via V12 Finance, your loan will be subject to a one-off arrangement fee (admin fee) of 5.79%."

Tottenham have confirmed that the renewal window for all existing season ticket holders will open at 10am on Tuesday, April 11. The deadline to complete payment and retain your seat for next season is 5pm on Thursday, June 1.
