Tottenham Hotspur handed double blow ahead of final day clash with Everton

Everton have been handed a significant boost ahead of their trip to face Tottenham Hotspur on the Premier League’s final day, following two red cards against Bournemouth.

The Toffees kept their hopes of a seventh-place finish and a potential Europa League campaign alive on Friday evening by sweeping aside Burnley and travel to tackle Champions League semi-finalists Tottenham next Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are already at a disadvantage as they have the second leg of their Champions League semi-final with Ajax, where the Lilywhites trail 1-0, and the Argentine boss now faces a selection headache.

Son Heung-Min was sent off in the first half for a push on Bournemouth’s Jefferson Lerma and Juan Foyth was also given his marching orders after the interval, just a few minutes after his introduction as a half-time substitute.

The pair will now be suspended for the clash against Everton next weekend, giving Spurs problems at both ends of the field, and it opens the door for the Toffees to take advantage.

Marco Silva's side will also be encouraged by the fact that Tottenham have lost both of their last two matches at their new stadium, suffering defeat at the hands of West Ham United last week before Ajax secured a crucial midweek result.
