Tottenham Hotspur given fresh hope in pursuit of AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek

Krzysztof Piatek's father has admitted his son could leave AC Milan this month in a bid to be in his best form ahead of EURO2020.

Piatek has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur who are keen to sign a striker following Harry Kane's hamstring injury.

Manchester United have also been touted with a move for the AC Milan striker, after a long-term injury for Marcus Rashford, who has struggled with the Serie A club this term.

With Poland in EURO2020 action this summer, Piatek's desire to force his way into his country's starting XI could help force through a January transfer, according to his father, who claims he is open to a move.

Steve Bruce on potential Danny Rose transfer

“Kris wants to reach Euro 2020 in good shape and that means he can’t be a reserve sitting on the bench, but wants to be a regular starter,” Wladyslaw Piatek told Sportowefakty.

“If he can’t do that at Milan, then he’ll gladly do it elsewhere.

"He is on the transfer market in January, just like Lucas Paqueta, Suso and Hakan Calhanoglu.”

Aston Villa and Newcastle United have also been linked with Piatek, who has failed to live up to the £30million price tag that took him from Genoa to AC Milan.

The 24-year-old has only scored four times in 18 Serie A matches having netted 22 times last season.
