Tottenham Hotspur evening headlines Spurs urged to sign Jack Grealish, Milan Skriniar price

Here are the Tottenham Hotspur evening headlines on Friday 14th August.

Spurs target available, for €50 million

Internazionale are believed to have made domineering centre-back Milan Škriniar available, but only if a potential suitor is willing to pay their €50 million asking price.

The Slovakian international is a target for Spurs who saw Jan Vertonghen leave on a free transfer this summer.

Sport Mediaset also report Škriniar is being tracked by both Manchester City and Manchester United, as well as Real Madrid, meaning Spurs face competition for the 25-year-old’s signature.

In Spurs’ favour however is Inter’s interest in Tanguy Ndombélé, widely believed to be considered surplus to requirements in North London by José Mourinho. Reports indicate the two clubs could strike an agreement which sees each club acquiring a new player.

Guardiola eyeing addition of Spurs midfielder

In a surprise move, the Sun have reported that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is targeting a transfer for Harry Winks this summer. Winks is valued at £40 million and it is not the first time the England midfielder has been linked with a move away, in particular to Manchester.

Winks has four years remaining on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and even captained the side against Wolverhampton Wanderers back in March.

It is unclear whether José Mourinho would be keen to let the 24-year-old depart, but his old foe Guardiola does appear intent on bringing Winks to the North West.

Former Spurs midfielder weighs in on Grealish interest

Ex-Tottenham man Jamie O’Hara believes José Mourinho should sign Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish this summer, but not at the Villains' £80 million asking price.

Whilst on air with talkSPORT, O’Hara claimed the transfer would be a perfect fit for both club and player, but the fee – particularly in a post-COVID-19 market – could be a barrier.

"I think it would be brilliant for Spurs if I'm honest.

"I think we should have got him a season ago when he was probably a lot cheaper,” O’Hara said.

The former Spurs, Wolves and Fulham midfielder believes Grealish’s time at Villa Park is up, and the destination he hopes the 24-year-old arrives at is the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
