Tottenham Hotspur confirm transfer decision over loanee

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that midfielder George Marsh has extended his loan spell with League Two side Leyton Orient.

The 21-year-old has spent the first half of the season on loan to the east London side, having initially agreed a loan deal until January.

But now it has been confirmed that Marsh has extended his loan spell from Tottenham until the end of the season.

Marsh has impressed for the O's, making 18 appearances so far this season for the League Two side, who currently sit 19th in the table following their promotion from the National League.

What to expect from Tottenham in the January transfer window

Marsh is yet to score for the O's, but has become a key player for Orient, having only made his first Football League appearance of his career when he featured against Exeter City back in September.

And Leyton Orient interim head coach Ross Embleton has spoken of his delight at retaining the services of the Tottenham youngster until the end of the season.

"I'm absolutely delighted that he has signed for the rest of the season. It's fantastic for us as a club and for George and his development," he told Orient's club website .

"He came out here on his first loan and has played a lot of football; it was a slow start, but I think he has really shown everyone here what he is about as a character, what he is about athletically and the quality he has got as a footballer.

"We're delighted to have him. From our perspective, he is a good player that we can have again for the second half of the season."
