Tottenham Hotspur manager, Nuno Espirito Santo gave a cryptic pre-match press conference this week, as he said that his side had 'problems' going into today's game against Newcastle United.
As well as issues around South American internationals returning later than most and therefore possibly being unavailable for the game, there are said to be at least two positive covid cases at the club.
Whilst it hasn't been confirmed by the club, there has been much speculation online that Heung-Min Son is one of those two players. However, stories in South Korea have claimed that Son will be available, as reported by HITC.
According to HITC, Yonhap News claim they have "spoken to a source who spoke to Son’s agent" who told them that Son has returned a negative test.
This perhaps suggests that it might not be the most reliable source, but as Tottenham have never confirmed who the two players are that have tested positive, there will be a wait until the team-sheets are released to discover whether Son is available to face the Magpies.
The game comes with the two camps surrounded by contrasting atmospheres as the Newcastle side are obviously bouyed by the news of the takeover and dreaming of an exciting future, despite the fact they have yet to win a game this season.
Meanwhile, Spurs have had a very inconsistent start to the season and their star man, Harry Kane has yet to score a goal.
Adding in the selection issues that Santo faces today, Steve Bruce 's side will feel they have a real opportunity to finally record their first win of the season.
