Tottenham highlights: Match action and goals from Champions League win over Man City

Tottenham will take a slender lead to the Etihad Stadium after securing a 1-0 win over Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

Heung-min Son’s 78th minute strike separated the two sides after the hosts lost Harry Kane to injury – another ankle injury that could see him miss the season run-in.

City were gifted the opportunity to take the lead from the penalty spot in the first-half when Danny Rose was adjudged to have blocked Raheem Sterling’s shot with his arm in a latest controversial VAR decision.

Hugo Lloris denied Sergio Aguero from 12 yards however.

City struggled to trouble the Tottenham goalkeeper for the remainder of their contest and their hopes of a historic quadruple suffered a blow when Son twisted and turned on the byline before firing past Ederson 12 minutes before the final whistle.

The two sides meet at the Etihad next Wednesday to decide the tie – with the same fixture following three days later in a pivotal Premier League clash.
