Heung-min Son has revealed his final “wish and hope” for Tottenham as he bids farewell to the club after 10 years.

Son made his final appearance for Tottenham in their 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Sunday.

The 33-year-old, who confirmed his exit in a press conference on Saturday, wished Tottenham continued success after guiding them to their first trophy in 17 years last season.

Spurs’ next chance of silverare comes in 10 days as they take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Uefa Super Cup, days before the Premier League season begins, and a return to the Champions League will follow soon after.

"I hope they win all the five competitions [including the FA Cup and Carabao Cup]. That's my wish, and that's my hope,” Son told SPURSPLAY.

The Tottenham captain, who was visibly moved after leaving the pitch against Newcastle, went on to say it was the perfect time to say goodbye after 10 years with the North London club.

“I can only think about the beautiful moments and amazing moments. So look, this is the time to say goodbye to everyone,” Son, who was mobbed by teammates and opposition players alike, continued.

Spurs were really always in my heart and I will cheer you on as a family.”

Son admitted it had been difficult to come to terms with leaving Tottenham, whom he joined from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, but said it was an experience he would never forget.

“It was really tough, to be honest, last couple of weeks. It wasn’t me in the training, in the games, it was really, really difficult.

“But (the) players were there always, and they were pushing me. We made the banter. Some days I was really grumpy, and everybody understood it with the situation, but they pushed me.

“Obviously it was not my best condition, and then it was not best my performance. But I think the moments of sharing these beautiful moments is something that I will never forget.”

Son is in advanced talks to join MLS side LAFC, bringing to an end his 17-year stay in Europe, with Tottenham manager Thomas Frank describing him as “a true Spurs legend” and “one of the greatest players to play in the Premier League”.
