Tottenham have Roman Abramovich to thank for Daniel Levy's Antonio Conte appointment

The blueprint that Roman Abramovich has been crucified for is now the general practice of several clubs across the world. The latest club to replicate Chelsea’s blueprint is now Tottenham Hotspur.

Daniel Levy, welcome to the club.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been sacked as Tottenham’s manager after a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United over the weekend. The sacking was quite imminent as fans saw a pattern of football that they were just not happy with.

It looks like Antonio Conte is set to take over and it could be the most positive appointment for the Lilywhites in recent years.

Contrary to popular belief, I guess it is quite difficult to find one manager and stick with them for a long period of time - Roman Abramovich just figured it out first.

Let's assume that Chelsea had not embraced their ruthless mentality with managers under the Roman Abramovich era. Would there have been as much success for the Blues? Would Jose Mourinho still be in charge? What would the trajectory of the club be?

The same applies to Tottenham. Would they have sacked Jose Mourinho, would they have sacked Nuno Espirito Santo? It is a ruthless business if you want to get that all-important success that Tottenham has been craving for over a decade.

Since their last trophy win in 2008, Tottenham has had seven different managers walk through the door. In that time, there has still been no progression in their trophy cabinet. It is easy to blame the players however, it is just as easy to assume that each manager was not good enough to lead them to glory.

The ingredient to success is labelled across Roman Abramovich's blueprint. Just hire a winner - pay the money and get it done.

It's as easy as it sounds.

According to Sky Sports, Antonio Conte is headed off to London to sign and seal a deal with the North Londoners. Spurs were previously linked with the Italian in the summer however talks between both parties seemed to collapse. Instead, Levy settled on the hire of Nuno Espirito Santo, a man who has not had much glory to his name in football. Four months down the line, Tottenham is back to square one.

They will need to meet Antonio Conte's demands to which they declined previously. If they had taken that leap of faith in the serial winner, maybe they'd be in a better position at the moment.

To all the Tottenham fans, it seems that Levy has officially figured out the code. Four months down the line and he realized that the style of football that came with Nuno was just not efficient.

If there is a man who can turn the table around it's Antonio Conte. Maybe, just maybe, Harry Kane may regain his superior form under the Italian. Better yet, maybe the entire team will benefit from the discipline that Conte will provide.

Either way, with a managerial change like this, it's not too late for a top-four charge - and it's all thanks to Roman Abramovich.
