Tottenham Hotspur have had many unwanted tags down the years.
The most common one that immediately springs to mind for most football fans is 'Spursy', which is often used by rival fans to taunt the Lilywhites as it is used to describe the club’s consistent ability to fall short.
It was a tag that former head coach Mauricio Pochettino tried to shed and Jose Mourinho now dismisses entirely.
Meanwhile, Spurs defender Eric Dier launched his own attack on the phrase 'Spursy' earlier in the season, revealing how frustrating it was to hear the word after a second placed Premier League finish a few years ago.
"That’s something that’s quite frustrating to be honest because I think, as I said before, there were seasons where we finished second in the league and people called it Spursy," he said.
"We finished second. We just didn’t manage to win it and people were calling that Spursy. I don’t believe this team has had that tag for a long time.
"I don’t think teams enjoy playing us. I think we’re physical, I think we’re aggressive, I think we’re determined, we’ve got a good attitude and the manager has definitely brought an extra edge to that.
"He’s more demanding in certain areas and ruthless with you individually and as a team so he’s definitely increased that a bit as well."
With that said, the good news for Dier and company is that the term 'Spursy' may soon be a thing of the past.
However, the bad news is that it appears to have replaced with an even worse tag.
As you can see in the image below, when the word 'dodgy' is searched on Google, it brings up an unwanted definition for Spurs.
"Of low quality," the description reads. "Spurs' dodgy defence had thrown away a 2-0 lead."
That is, of course, in reference to Spurs' Europa League exit at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb on Thurday.
This was despite appearing to have one foot in the quarter-finals after taking care of business in north London as a Harry Kane brace saw them breeze past the Croatian side ahead of the second leg.
But they let a 2-0 lead slip as Mislav Orsic's hat-trick completed a stunning turnaround to dump Spurs out of the competition.
