Tottenham will have to face Manchester United, Brighton and West Ham in the space of eight days after the Premier League announced the new dates for several postponed games.
A number of matches were put back over the Christmas period due to a rise in Covid-19 cases across the division, including Spurs’ fixtures against Burnley, Brighton and Arsenal.
On Friday, it was confirmed that their trip to the Amex Stadium will take place on Wednesday, March 16 at 7.30pm GMT.
The previous Saturday will see the team travel to Manchester United with West Ham the visitors to Tottenham Stadium on Sunday, March 20.
Brighton sit just a single place and three points behind Tottenham ahead of this weekend’s games, with Antonio Conte highlighting the Seagulls as among their immediate rivals - rather than those in the top four.
“In this league every single team wants to improve,” Conte said. “Not only Tottenham – but Arsenal, Leicester, West Ham, Aston Villa and Newcastle.
“Also teams like Brighton, Wolverhampton. They want to improve. In this moment we have to fight with these teams, not with the top teams, and we have to know this.
“It’s important not to be scared about this situation now but we need to have the desire, the will to fight this situation, to try to rebuild again. For sure for me it’s a totally different situation compared to my past.”
The Premier League has also announced the new date for Liverpool’s trip to Arsenal, which will also take place on March 16 but at 8.15pm GMT. Everton’s rearranged clash with Newcastle will now take place the following night.
