Tottenham handed huge injury boost ahead of crunch clash with Chelsea

Tottenham have confirmed that Tanguy Ndombele has returned to training with the first team squad ahead of the game against Chelsea on Sunday.

Spurs host London rivals Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend in a vital Premier League clash, with Tottenham able to move into the top four with a victory against Frank Lampard's side.

Tottenham currently sit three points behind the Blues in the Premier League table, but with a superior goal difference, meaning they can leapfrog their rivals with a win.

And Spurs have been handed a huge boost ahead of the game with confirmation that the French midfielder is back in training after a groin injury.

Jose Mourinho praises Paulo Gazzaniga

Ndombele has not featured since the 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday, December 4, having featured in three of Jose Mourinho's first four games in charge.

But Spurs have confirmed that he has returned to training with the squad, and as such, he is in contention to feature against Chelsea.

Experienced goalkeeper Michel Vorm has also returned to training after a calf injury, and he too could feature in the matchday squad.

However, Hugo Lloris, Ben Davies and Erik Lamela are still out injured, with Spurs confirming that the trio are continuing their rehabilitation.
