Hugo Lloris endured the worst possible start to the afternoon in the Premier League clash with Brighton.
Tottenham were just two minutes into the clash at the AMEX Stadium when disaster struck for the Spurs goalkeeper.
Lloris made a huge error as he dropped the ball, leading to former Brentford striker Neal Maupay capitalising and giving the Seagulls a 1-0 lead.
While that would have been a bad enough start, it got worse for Lloris who suffered a serious injury.
The 32-year-old appeared to land awkwardly on the turf leading to a lengthy stoppage as he received treatment from the Tottenham medical team.
The decision was then made to call for a stretcher with Lloris being taken off while receiving oxygen for the pain.
He was then replaced by Paulo Gazzaniga.
While the extent of the injury is not yet confirmed, it certainly looked like a serious injury which could see the goalkeeper ruled out for a lengthy spell.
