Tottenham handed another potential blow ahead of Everton clash after Champions League heroics

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed another potential blow ahead of their upcoming match against Everton this weekend.

Spurs and their fans are currently celebrating their Champions League heroics on Wednesday night, coming from 3-0 down against Ajax on aggregate to qualify for the final.

A second half Lucas Moura hat-trick was enough to send Mauricio Pochettino's side to Madrid at the start of June where they will face Liverpool.

However, there is reportedly a cause for concern for Tottenham after that game which could affect their lineup against Everton in the final match of the Premier League season this weekend.

The unseen moments at Goodison Park which show Everton are finally a united front

Jan Vertonghen left the Johan Cruyff ArenA in a protective boot and on crutches after helping Spurs to a famous victory, potentially making him a doubt for the Blues' visit to north London on Sunday.

According to football.london , the boot was only used as a precaution after an ankle knock in the first half and the defender should be fit to face Liverpool in the Champions League final next month.

But the Belgian international could yet be rested for the visit of the Blues to Spurs' new stadium.

Pochettino will already, as it stands, be without two first team players through suspension this weekend.

Both Heung-Min Son and Juan Foyth were sent off in Spurs' 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth last week and are set to be banned for the visit of Everton.

However, Tottenham have appealed the former, with a decision yet to be made over whether the South Korean international's suspension will stand.
