Tottenham and Brentford are in discussions over whether Spurs would have to pay his £10million buyout fee in full to secure him as their next manager.

Spurs are growing in confidence that they will be able to agree terms and hire Frank to replace Ange Postecoglou after he was sacked as head coach last week.

Standard Sport understands that talks between the two clubs were taking place on Monday afternoon, specifically over the detail of whether the full £10m in compensation must be paid in order for Brentford to release Frank to Spurs.

Frank is understood to be keen on the move to Tottenham, who qualified for the Champions League next season by winning the Europa League in their penultimate match under Postecoglou.

Should a deal be agreed between the two clubs, the 51-year-old is hoping to take many of his current coaching staff at Brentford with him to Spurs.

Frank has been at Brentford since 2016 and in position as head coach since 2018.In 2021, the Dane guided the Bees to the Premier League, where they have been ever since. This season saw them finish in 10th, seven places above Tottenham.
