Hugo Lloris missed Tottenham's trip to Leicester after his wife gave birth on Saturday.
The France international was in the frame to face the Foxes but swiftly returned to London after news of his child's birth.
A message from the club confirmed: "Hugo Lloris misses today's game due to his wife giving birth."
Paulo Gazzaniga was instead brought in for his first Premier League start since April, when he played in the 1-0 defeat at Manchester City.
