Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is set to undergo surgery for a hernia next week, following the team's crucial match against Nottingham Forest.
The surgery has been timed to minimise its impact on Tottenham's season, with the club hoping Vicario will return to action within a month.
This situation could force the recall of Antonin Kinsky, who previously had a disastrous 17-minute performance against Atletico Madrid, making two errors in a 5-2 defeat.
Kinsky, a 22-year-old Czech player, was replaced during that Champions League match and now faces a potential enforced return to the starting lineup.
Vicario had returned to play in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool and the 3-2 win over Atletico in the return leg before his upcoming surgery.
