Tottenham given major transfer boost as Timothy Castagne's agent makes admission over future

Tottenham Hotspur have been put on high alert after Timothy Castagne’s agent admitted there’s “nothing more” the defender can do at Atalanta.

The Belgian has been a key part of the Italian side’s success over the past year or so, having helped them their highest ever position in Serie A after finishing third, and reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they were dramatically knocked out by Paris Saint-Germain.

Castagne though has just 12 months remaining on his current contract with the Bergamo club, and has been heavily linked with a move away this summer.

The 24-year-old has previously suggested that a move to the Premier League would be his dream, with Tottenham the club most heavily mooted as a possible destination.

Spurs have a shortage in Castagne’s position of right-back following Kyle Walker-Peters’ departure for Southampton earlier this week.

And their hopes of landing Castagne have been given a major boost after the player’s agent, Zenon Melon, admitted they were looking at options for the Belgian in the summer transfer window.

“Timothy has done very well in the last three seasons,” Melon told HLM (via Football-Italia ).

“But I don’t think he can do more than what he did at Atalanta.

“Now we will evaluate all the options.

“The player, until yesterday, was focused on the Champions League. Now, let’s see how the market evolves.”
